The cycle is great, but one key element is missing - it's the Product Design phase. I have to put it in "features" or "requirements", but design doesn't work like that. I'm unable to see/ demonstrate the work done by the design team, as there is no specific phase for this on the roadmap, or in strategy.
Adding that release phases are not ideal for this, as my releases are linked to Jira and wish not to "pollute" dev boards on Jira with product design - it is 2 separate, distinct phases.
Design phase would be to enter research, flow/ wireframes, discussion, prototypes, grooming with devs, milesonte/ validation - all while showing in Aha! the prototypes (= Figma, miro previews) - so there is a big visual of where we are re. product. Without the previews, it is all very abstract.
Hi there, thank you for your idea! Can you share how you are hoping to illustrate the design phase? There are a couple things you could potentially do here but I'm not sure which direction would be best for you. Initial thoughts:
Add a release phase (if you wanted to visualize this phase on a Gantt or custom roadmap.) You can also create release templates that could automatically add this phase to each release.
Customize your status workflow to include design-related steps. We do this in our own feature workflow -- including statuses for
Ready for design
andIn design
.Use Aha! Develop to manage the design team's work through their own individual workflow
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have tried these already or have additional details you could share on what you are hoping to accomplish. Thanks!
