We used a couple alternative terms for statuses for the customer-facing view of ideas. However, that alternative terminology was not used in the email notifications sent out to the idea creator. Alternative terminology should be adopted wherever the intended audience will see it.
Hi Kaitlyn, yes that is very helpful. I agree, it does seem that in this case the email should be using the custom terminology setup in the portal for your statuses. We will investigate what it will take to make a change here. Thanks!
Thanks for your response, Austin. I'm aware of the handy custom email template function. However, $STATUS populated the "internal" status terminology, whereas I'd like it to use the terminology displayed in the portal. Attached is an example of the email I had in use, where the status "Needs Product Team Review" should have shown as "Under Consideration" to our audience. Does that help clarify what I'm looking for?
Hi there, thank you for your idea. It is currently possible to fully customize the emails sent via the portal. In portal settings choose Emails > Templates. From here you can update the subject and body of the email sent for status changes.
