Make search box permanently visible

When searching for off references using the global search behind the magnifying glass, clicking to open it every time is tedious. why not make it permanently available without having to open it everytime?

Thank you for your idea. This is done to simplify what is shown in the main menu. Currently this is designed to be as streamlined as possible -- the search box opens when you hover over it.
Given the explanation above we are unlikely to implement this idea at this time. We hope you can understand.
