As business needs change a Feature that seemed obvious to add to a release pipeline may get tabled based on new information and based on more information may need to be demoted. Even though Features can be bulk moved to Ideas the ability to easily degrade a feature down to an idea with 1-click so that it can be evenly considered among all other ideas seems useful. Thoughts?
I can see the status says "Already exists" but I can't see a way to demote a feature to an idea, I can only see the workaround of creating a related idea from a feature (with no option to remove the feature). Please could someone explain how to use the new functionality? Many thanks
Before we were leveraging Ideas as we should have been, we were creating features prematurely. Would be nice to be able to push these back to Ideas where the belong.
I agree with Peter, it would be nice to have a "Convert to Idea" option that automatically deletes /removes the feature after it creates the idea, so we don't have to do this step manually.
This would also be useful for me. Often we promote an idea to a feature and then change our decision and want to demote it back to an idea.
I have the same issue while reworking the backlog. Would be nice to be able to demote feature to idea
Hi Chris,
Thanks, I am aware of this process to create an idea from a feature. I was rather after 'demoting' a feature to an idea. Thus, if a feature exists that didn't originate from an idea, I want to create an idea from it, but also remove the feature until such a time that it has been prioritized as a valid idea to start work on.
I realize this is probably not a common occurrence, but I am going through a lot of historical items that need to be reprioritized. This is a once-off exercise, so not critical to have this feature available since it is achievable through the process you mentioned.
Thanks
In the "Actions" menu for a feature you can choose "Create related idea" to create an idea from a feature.
Is there a workaround or manual way of currently doing this?
