We rely a lot on the rank of Initiatives in order to determine the priority of Initiatives/Epics across the business. Unfortunately, the only way to re-rank Initiatives is by dragging and dropping in the Initiatives list.
it would be helpful to have the Initiative rank as an editable field in the Initiative detail view.
You could, for instance, take an Initiative from the bottom of the list, type "3" and have it become the 3rd-highest initiative (directly below 2 and directly above what was formerly in 3rd place).
This would make it very easy to place an Initiative in its "proper" place, after the team has agreed at it is the "#3 priority".
While i agree with the above, anything that can be done to remove the need to manually drag initiatives up and down that list and guess where the final resting spot is would be helpful. Right now, that is a manual process and without ANY indicator of where you are placing this in the list until after you have dropped it is a real pain point for our users.
Options to solve :
have the initiative cards customizable like other cards, and allow the rank to be displayed. This way you know where you are dropping the card
Have the rank display as an overlay as you are moving up or down to you see where it is dropping into the list
