Bug when bookmarking reports

I often have many reports bookmarked in my browser. Bookmarks opened in multiple tabs will bring up the wrong report.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create report A in one tab
  2. Bookmark report A in browser
  3. Create report B in another tab
  4. Bookmark report B in browser
  5. Go to third tab, click bookmark for report A
  6. Go to forth tab, clickk on bookmark for report B

Result: Step 6 will bring up report A

Expected result: It should bring up report B

This occurs when the views are not saved. If the views are saved before being bookmarked then the correct report will open with the bookmark. You can find more on saving views here.

The additional benefit to saving views is that they will show up in the Saved views section of the Views dropdown and on the Reports dashboard.

I guess I don't understand why you would also fix this in the report vs just in the views. Why would the report refresh itself when you are working in it??

Hi Bill, a view is a saved report. For example, if you create a new pivot table and save it, it will show up in the Views dropdown when you are in Reports -> Pivot tables. It's URL will also be set at this point so anytime you return to that specific URL you will see the same view.

I don't understand the Admin Response.  How does a View relate to a Report?
