When pre-planning a release, I want to be able to move sets of features around under master features to ensure that there's enough capacity in a release to complete the full set of features under a master feature. To do this I want to rank all the master features in the release and then have all their associated features ranked in the same way. For example, if there are three Master Features (1-3), each with 3 associated features (a-c), I would want to rerank features in the release to set the order as 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c. Reranking by master feature alphabetical order has limited value in my opinion.
Thank you for the idea. We currently do not have plans to update this area as it does not align with our current strategy or recent customer requests.
I concur. The issue is that we want to use the boards as a visual communication. We can order the epics or master features for a release, but when you view the same board, but as features, all of the features get rearranged and they are not at least, by default, in the order of the epic/master feature order.
It is very challenging to have quick visualization of order. Currently, the Related tabs show related features in no order that makes sense; and then the boards do not. The only workaround is to put and maintain a manual rank order in the title for quick visualization that works when viewing in the details or on the board -- very tedious to maintain.
This also doesn't give us any method for using to prioritize backlog and convey order of priority when evaluating to assess for upcoming projects. One of the features I utilized extensively in JIRA - the ability to drag and drop to rerank and it was very easy to move around and rerank as needed. This is a visualization and capability expected with applications where prioritization is essential for planning and communications - it is no longer considered a differential or wow.
Agreed, ranking by "alphabetical Master Feature" is pretty much useless.
Ranking Features in the current release by "Master Feature rank" would be amazingly useful.
Being able to set order of features in a Master Feature is a Great idea.
Set one for me would be able to manually set the order of features. Feature 1, 2, 3 etc... Aligning under a each release would be great.
