Skip the "Preview Window" after clicking on Reports and Notebooks

We work quite a bit with reports and notebooks. My workflow tends to be that I navigate to the folder where my notebooks and reports are and then click on the one I’m interested in.

Having to navigate over to the side window and then click again on View Report gets to be annoying. I cant see any value that the report “preview” view brings. Is there a way to configure my system to skip this preview?
