Ideas as read-only after they are promoted

As a Product Manager, I would like ideas to become read-only after they have been promoted to a feature so that the product development team can work on what was promoted and the requester gets what they asked for the first time.

I have had many instances where the author of an idea changes the idea after it has been promoted and now the description of their idea is different from what was passed along to the product developers.
