As a product manager, I would like to be able to automatically have my Master features get their estimates from their associated features as the default option. Right now, I have to manually change the "Schedule" from "Set Manually" to "Set Automatically" for every Master feature. I'd love to be able to configure this setting at a Product level in Aha!
The status of this idea was out of date. It is now possible to set the default date settings to be entered manually or calculated from child records. This applies to initiatives, releases, release phases, and epics.
Hello, you may have noticed that this "set automatically" date for both master feature and initiatives has been removed. You must now enter dates manually, and there is not an option to turn to automatic.
I have a new idea here: https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/A-I-9273 which requests this functionality be returned.
I'd also like to see the Master Feature take on the latest Release date of the Features under it.
I agree as the Master Feature should always be the roll-up of the Features - at least 99% of the time IMO.
This is definitely needed, if you want to be able to estimate at a feature level, currently the requirement to change to calculate automatically in every master feature is a massive admin overhead. Please add this as soon as possible!
Good to see that this is likely to implement, as I always look for Master Feature dates to be set based on Feature dates. Please also consider BIG IDEA for allowing requirement dates to influence Feature dates - very much needed, much like is done for Feature to Master Feature - would be great to see that too!
