Filter field for External Release Date

I’m trying to create a report showing the releases and constituent features released last month – which automatically updates as each month passes.

I’m using a pivot report and have added a filter field called Release release date which allows me to select a custom date range of last month but this is giving me releases from last month and this month – I assume this is using the internal release date. I really need to filter on the External release date but that field is not available to add.

    The status of this idea was out of date. Since this idea was created we have added the ability to filter on external release dates.

    The ability to filter by External Release Date and format that is being used allows stakeholder to understand the impact and timing of the release.  Example, For 3 year roadmap based on releases, filtering a table by year is extremely important to decision makers for annual budgets.
