When generating a Notebook in PDF, tables (column spacing, etc.) don't format in the same manner as they do onscreen. The columns appear to all default to even spacing which makes reports harder to consume.
The status of this idea was out of date. Since this idea was submitted we have implement improvements that will preserve the formatting of reports in PDFs:
PDFs can now be optimized for printing or for viewing online, including printing to various page sizes.
Columns in lists and pivot tables can now be resized. These formatting changes will also be preserved when exporting to PDF.
Huge problem with Aha! It takes a lot of time and effort to build custom reports that have the necessary information and details of the strategic plan. When it looks great on screen and then prints with broken lines, through boxes and cuts text in half and we have no control over page breaks or pagination... it then becomes a report that cannot be used for presentation, meetings or online documentation... so it's basically useless and a waste of time. PDF printing AND web notebooks have major flaws for creating professional reports and reflects bad on your product.
this is a really frustrating element of AHA - I use both notebooks and pdfs for sharing the information and when the formatting is so different and indeed can be misaligned and misleading this takes a lot of time checking and trying to resolve(usually to no avail) - not every stakeholder wants or needs the online only option - to me this is a priority to get right !!
ps need options to be able to output to fill different paper size options better and repeating headers is a must!
