Our support team is using salesforce ideas to gather suggestions, which is great, but i don't want to have manual entry to move ideas from there to AHA.
Is there an option to integrate with Salesforce ideas? OR replace ideas by embedding an aha portal within salesforce communities (basic requirements would be SSO across the two portals)
I know there is an existing salesforce integration, but it relies on opportunities and cases which might not exist.
We have heard that the solutions below are working well for many of you, so we will consider this idea shipped. If you need anything else, please submit a new idea to let us know.
There are two solutions, depending on the experience you want for your users:
A link. Many product teams add a tab, link, or button to their Salesforce community that opens their Aha! ideas portal in a new window. And users can be automatically logged in to the ideas portal using SAML SSO with Salesforce community as the identity provider.
Embedded. Aha! ideas portals can also be embedded in an iframe in a community page using the embed script found in Portal settings > Branding > Custom. Supporting SSO through the iframe can be challenging as browsers continue to become more secure – we have found that it is helpful to use a custom cname for the portal that matches your community domain.
I spent the day troubleshooting and reworking the implementation for my company. We have a VisualForce page embedded in an Aura Digital Experience page.
We were originally doing all the steps in The JWT single sign-on experience with the embed script provided by Aha. Now, we start at step 5 (as stated you can in the Note). We know the user since they're in our portal.
The VisualForce page uses javascript remoting to call an Apex controller and the Apex controller constructs the JWT response.
The remoting handleResult() function compiles the final URL and uses
window.location
to update the embedded page. One quirk we found in testing is... within the same browser, the Aha session persists between users unless you explicitly log out the user from the embedded Aha session. Example: Log in to Experience as Bill and access Aha. You see Aha as Bill. Log in to Experience as Jeff and access Aha. You see Aha as Bill.
We think the chances are low that multiple users will access our Salesforce portal in the same browser session or even from the same computer.
Having the ability to embed the Ideas Portal into a Salesforce Digital Experience is essential. This caters for the user to provide feedback to the Product team directly as well as reduced effort from the organization to double-handle the data via the Opportunities pages.
We're looking to roll out Ideas and would love to have the ability to embed the idea portal in Salesforce. It's a must have for our customer experience.
My idea to be able to bring all Aha! Ideas into Salesforce instead of just those with an Idea Link has been merged into this one. I believe this is a separate ask because we are not using Saleforce Ideas in any way. Has anyone been able to bring in Aha! Ideas that are not linked to an Account, Opportunity, or Case successfully?
Any update on this? We're building out the Salesforce Community and would love to integrate Aha Ideas into the community.
As it says "Likely to implement", can you share what is actually going to be implemented?
We wrote custom Apex code to embed the portal in the tab in Salesforce classic. It would be great to be able to show the portal as if it were part of the Salesforce interface in Lightningforce. Opening a separate tab breaks the flow and makes our users less likely to follow through on creating the idea.
We recently migrated our Ideas out of Salesforce and into Aha and are providing a link with SSO functionality from all of our Salesforce Communities to the Aha Ideas Portal. We made this decision because our Product Managers work in Aha and not Salesforce so it is more valuable to have the Ideas in Aha so they can be promoted into the product roadmap. We setup the link as a Tab in the Community so that the user just clicks on the Tab and it opens a window with the Aha Ideas Portal. This also solved our issue of allowing anyone we interact with to participate in Ideas. In our new Salesforce implementation with the way Ideas can be configured we were no longer able to include our Partners in the process because they were in a different Community. This fixed the issue.
Has anyone successfully done something like this? We're considering it with Jive, or perhaps another portal. As Gord McNeil posted, I would be more interested in embedding then in integrating.
