Ability to share your idea with others, and ask them to vote for it
Meltwater has just implemented our first ideas portal, and the response from our users (the Sales group) has been terrific!
One of our ideas portal users submitted the following request:
Is there a way to share the ideas we've submitted via the feedback portal with others? For example, after submitting an idea, I tried to share that link with my colleague - but they are not able to access it.

This would be a great feature because I could then get others to vote for my product idea (thus generating more engagement / interaction from people on the feedback portal)
Even something like a "tag" feature would be great.
Why it useful?
It would allow ideas portal users to generate interest for their ideas, and encourage engagement with the sales group (our portal users).
Who would benefit?
The person submitting the idea would benefit by being able to promote their ideas.
How would it work?
Option 1:
When submitting an idea, the user could choose from a drop-down list of portal users to send an email to, to ask them to vote for their idea.
Option 2:
The user could click on a button which would give them an option to type in email addresses of users to email.
For private portals, though, anyone who is not already a user would not be able to use the link.
(We're a private portal.)

In general, we see the idea portal as a potential replacement for the JIRA Service Desk features. One key feature in the Service Desk is the ability to add Request Participants which are akin to watchers. The nice part about that feature is the user making the request has the ability to add their boss and other key stakeholders to the request so they are all notified at various stages in the process.
Think this is something that should very much be considered.
We can see the value in getting more users to interact with Ideas portal. As you know, one simple workaround would be to share the URL via email to others who may have interest in the idea.
At the moment, we don't have plans to make social/sharing updates in this area as we feel that the engagement with ideas should be organic (to help you to clearly see the popularity of the idea among your stakeholders to help you with prioritization). We feel that adding sharing capabilities can potentially turn idea voting into a popularity contest which can potentially limit the ability to see the true interest level in the idea. I hope you can understand.
It would be nice to be able to review an idea and “send” it to others on the spot. Similar to Pinterest…I see something I know someone else will like so I hit Send.
Hi Patty, If the idea portal is submit only, you cannot view ideas on the portal (only inside of Aha!). If the idea portal is private, then a person must be a subscriber to view the idea on the portal. If the idea portal is public anyone can view the idea. That said, if you are seeing a problem based on my description, please submit a support ticket at support@aha.io because it's an issue, not a feature request. Now, your last suggestion is a feature request so I'll leave the idea. Thanks!
