Viewing and searching features for shipped releases

It's not possible to see feature list in shipped release at all. Searching for features doesn't bring it up either. If this tools comes to replace PRD/ERD - deleting any record of implemented features is not a good idea.

Thank you for your idea. The global search (in the top right corner of the main navigation bar) will search all features -- including shipped features. For the use case you mentioned -- finding past features to determine which release they were shipped in, we would recommend using the global search.

The Feature > Details view shows only one release at a time, in isolation. It's an extremely poor substitute for seeing everything in one place (releases that are shipped or not).

Until recently, I was not made to 'ship' my releases, so I had the convenience of viewing past & future releases all together, and could see the continuity of multi-Epic, ongoing development efforts. But the dictum has come down that we had to 'ship' past releases, and as soon as I did so and saw the result, I knew I had lost a tremendous amount of convenience - I frankly couldn't even BELIEVE there was no way to get the old releases back on the board! Please, please, let us see shipped releases on the features board alongside unshipped! What could possibly be the advantage of preventing this?

Where is this "Feature > Details" view? I don't understand how to find that. I agree with all the other posts on here that having shipped releases removed and so hard to find is hugely problematic. It's such a problem that until this is fixed by Aha! I won't "ship" any additional releases.

Hi there, yes shipped releases are removed from the features board. There are a few ways to view features in shipped releases currently:

    1. The global search (in the upper right corner) searches all records -- including features in shipped releases

    2. The Feature > Details view includes a release dropdown which includes shipped releases. This will show all features in that release in the left hand section. You can select a feature to see it's details on the right.

    3. Reporting on shipped releases and features

    I hope that helps!

Shipped releases do not show up in Features Board as of July 23, 2022. I see that this is marked as "already exists" but I don't see it in production.

I've tried to reopen the release so that it would appear again, but some tag must not have changed and it still is hidden. How do I undo the process? Also, in some cases shipped releases appear in a roadmap view that I have created and in others they don't? How do I understand why this is happening?

I came here looking for a solution to the same problem. My management wants to see "shipped" on a release, but if I do that, I can no longer see it in my features board. I am frequently refer back to shipped releases and this makes it very frustrating. Please just move shipped releases as a filter option!!!

I agree that not being able to see shipped releases in the story board is an arbitrary choice which is too restrictive. Let us control it with filters. Do not try and enforce a control on your customers - we do not all work the same way. We are also not moving our releases to shipped as we were caught in this once already in this silly situation.

We need to see past releases (Shipped) and their features on the feature board. This is integral to lifecycle management of the product and for anyone to view history. Search is not a solution, it is a rudimentary workaround at best. We have resorted to keeping releases in "Ready to ship" status and never "Shipped". We only "Ship" the feature within a release. This is also a workaround and it is not ideal, but we have visibility on all releases.. We love the feature board, it is so practical, so extend it to include all releases.

I've heard this often from many within our Digital Product Management org - we live in the Feature board. Context shifting to another view to look at shipped releases takes us out of our standard practice when working in Aha.

Ultimately, I think this is a testament to how well the Feature board is designed. We don't want to have to break out of that view to look at shipped releases. ;)

the feature board of shipped release is part of the product story the product managers often have to tell.

Please add the ability to show past releases in the feature board.

A simple toggle in the features board that allows you to view shipped releases would be perfect.

This isn't a search use case. I don't know the releases that have been shipped prior to joining the team, but I do need an easy way to see what came before me, how it was set up and how it was messaged. I added the release status filter to my Features board, but it does not include status 'shipped.'

Agree with Nick. When we follow a subject, we need to have also the shipped release.

My user story is the following : As Product Manager i need to have a global vision in the year of all releases, so after i can communicate in easy way at any stakeholder about follow up or Releases in the past.

Agree with Nick. A filter on the Features Board should allow you to see shipped releases. Filtering on release date would provide control over how much is shown. Would be great as it is clunky to go between Features Board for what's coming soon but have to go to a Report to see what was just released.

Hi there, yes it is possible to show shipped features on custom roadmaps by adjusting your filters. The exact solution depends on how you have designed your roadmap, but there are a couple things to check:

    • Include a feature status filter and make sure it is set to include features in the "Shipped" status

    • Include a release settings filter and make sure it is set to include shipped releases

If these do not help you get the view you need, can you please share more details about the structure of your roadmap with support@aha.io? Our customer success team can definitely help you get these features included on your roadmap. Thanks!

Agreed with the comments below! I really want to see Shipped Features in my Feature board. Also, when I create a Custom Roadmap, I cannot see any of my Shipped Features in this view - makes it hard to see the full story of why certain "In Progress" Features were delayed. Is there any way to see "Shipped Features" in a Custom Roadmap view?

    i'm with Samantha:

Ideally the features board should be able to show you shipped releases as well. for a full story of your product!

Great, it sounds like you are getting closer. You can add the release column by clicking + icon after the last column and selecting Add data column. When you click this, you will see a list of all the columns in your report. If you click Add records related to Feature you can select Release and add any release columns you need.

Another option to consider to show the full story would be user story maps. Shipped releases and features do remain on the story map.
