Currently when the data in a Custom Roadmap does not have dates set that align to the Duration or Milestone set up, the data is automatically filtered from the Custom Roadmap. Users are unaware that data in the report is potentially incomplete.
From a user’s perspective, the report is set up to show specific records. Regardless of the data the user decides to display, the expectation is that all records will be shown, assuming there are no filters active. Hiding certain records make the report incorrect.
The suggestion is to show all data and let the user utilize the "Is blank" and "Is not blank" filters to filter out the blank rows.
This is beneficial for the facilitation of a conversation to show work that is planned alongside work that is yet to be planned, but where the larger item (e.g. Initiative) is a known priority. Otherwise the question will easily come up "where is X" and you are forced to switch views. Even if this was a setting to show blank rows it would be great.
When trying to show records in a Gantt format in custom roadmaps, records that do not have both dates populated are missing from the report completely. Why I don't expect the data to be plotted on the timeline, hiding the information makes the report inaccurate.
