Improving usability of the new dashboard feature

I LOVE these ideas. The current dashboard functionality is very limited and it is hard to convey to readers more information because not everyone can drill in to see details and the description. The ability to add additional content such as titles, images, and text to provide clarity would improve understanding and reduce questions.

The ability to apply filters other than workspace is important when not all roadmaps or reasons for dashboards are workspace driven. For example, we look across the portfolio at releases or based on individual or team assignments. It also opens up additional value when you allow common filters.

Austin Merritt - to answer your question, my intent with the suggestion of being able to size the panel was actually speaking to the content. The issue we're having today is that if you include something like a pivot it uses the same format sizing as it would on the standalone report, which takes a long of space so then we're forces to have a really large panel to reduce scrolling. It would be nice to be able to shrink or magnify the content to fit the panel. I've attached an example where we would like a smaller panel, but also no scrolling to illustrate. I believe charts behave this way and also you have this option for other views (like pivots) in presentations.

Absolutely needed for our org to adopt and join the dashboard train. On top of adding filters, it'd be cool if here was a way to "drill down" into specific reports on the dashboard. That way, users can filter reports based on the level of granularity. Some folks need a high-level look, others want specifics

Yes to all of these! Being able to add text would help to provide explanation for those looking at the dashboard, additional the filter one has come up for us many times, I would prefer not to have to create a new dashboard for each initiative, It would be much better if the dashboard itself could be filtered by initiative so they could see the relevant data per initiative all in one dashboard.

For me, it is to expand it temporarily. The dashboard provides a great way to consolidate different reports that support the dashboard's objective (vs having a folder with the different reports). The dashboard can give a quick visual for me to assess whether to further drill into; or switch between reports needed for investigation. If I use folders, I have to open each one up into a separate tab.

These are great ideas. Thank you! Just to clarify, is the situation that you have a panel that you want to remain smaller than the entire view, but you want to quickly expand it to see the entire report temporarily? Or are you wanting to permanently resize the panel to fit the full report? In the latter case, would you want that to expand both horizontally and vertically? I would be a little concerned that this could create some really large panels.

Definitely. My primary barrier to utilization / adoption is not having the ability to shrink or expand/snap to to quickly view entire report without leaving the dashboard.

Also, for charts, ability to drill into.

YES to all four points - plus a 'snap to size', if I want the entire report to be visible with no scrolling, please don't make me grab the corner and try to adjust, as this isn't easy - just give me the option please.
