Ability to specify the report type in a dashboard

What is the challenge?

• I have a report which has multiple views i.e. a list, pivot and chart. When i use the report in a dashboard, it uses the saved view in the dashboard. I like the ability to display the same data in different ways but it doesn't translate well to dashboards

What is the impact?

• To be able to use this a dashboard i.e. a pivot table and chart i need to save them as distinct reports. This means the filter criteria and data defintion is dulicated.This affects maintanablity in particulr when the filttering is complex. This is compounded further when another user has edit access to the report and switches views and then saves the report the view in the dashboard changes.

Describe your idea.

• When specifying a report in a panel, where the report has multiple views, allow the panel to configure the view it will use. Or when selecting the report - allow the saved views in the report to appear in the respective sections, i.e. if a report has a chart and pivot view saved, these will appear as two distinct selectable reports making clear the view type.
