Add more structure/guidance to Prepare > Script

What is the challenge?
  • Right now, the script page allows researchers to add a list of questions and some blurbs about each question, but the structure stops there.

  • All users get is a flat list, while users can add questions, there is little support for shaping the flow, intent, or pacing of the conversation.

What is the impact?
  • If users are referencing these during live calls, there isn't a lot of visual hierarchy at a quick glance, which increases cognitive load during interviews. This lack of structure makes the feature feel basic and limits its usefulness, reducing the likelihood that users will rely on it as part of their core workflow.

  • Adding structure transforms scripts from a simple question list into a more complete interview planning tool, encouraging researchers to consistently use Discovery as part of their preparation workflow.

Describe your idea.
  • This script page could benefit from some optional sectioning, such as "Intro/warm up," "current behavior," "pain points," "feature exploration," "wrap-up," etc etc. If users are using this as they interview, this could be helpful at a glance to help them pace their interview and stay on track.

    • We could treat these like section headers

  • We could add an optional time guidance for each question and/or section, which turns the script into a better facilitation tool

  • We could add an optional "Follow-up" question section for each question, which could be manually added or prompted by Elle. This is great to signal transitions or deeper dives into the topic, and helpful for less experienced researchers
