API for updating Collections on documents

What is the challenge?

Updating the Collections on a document is currently a manual process.

We have an Employee Handbook published for all employees. It is comprised of folders that come out of various workspaces - in order to make sure authors are not stepping on each others toes, each department has their own workspace. With more and more content being added, it is a much nicer user experience in the frontend of the KB to use the Collections filter. So I told the authors to set the Collection value. But they forget.

I have already a list report but it means I need to loop through all the workspaces and then batch update, and I need to do this regularly. And there's also no Automations rule, see idea https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/A-I-22536

What is the impact?

• Having access via the API would allow for streamlining setting the Collections per document.
