Pre-populate Ideas Submission widget with in-app contextual data

What is the challenge?
  • When a user submits their idea or reports a potential issue, they are doing it in our platform in context of whatever page they are on. They often just talk about the issue as if you can see their screen, so the idea is missing key context.

  • If there is some kind of issue, i also want to see some information about collected data (how did they get to this point, are their any console logs, etc.) to provide more information and context to what they are talking about.

What is the impact?
  • I am currently surfacing our own form which is very similar to their portal form and use the API to make a request to create the idea with the additional data i want to collect. So we are currently working without the widget.

  • However, as we onboard more tenants/organizations, I might have different questions I want to surface and I would love to use the Aha widget to make sure each tenant's forms are kept up to date and the configuration is reflected instantly (instead of me having to make configuration changes twice or update code in our platform).

Describe your idea.
  • It would be great if I could send data to fields, especially custom fields on the form. This would allow me to pre-populate the form with some key information and not force my users to fill it out manually (ex: what page are you on? What's the ID of the object you are referring to if it's relevant, what error message are you seeing? etc.)

  • It would be great if I could hide these fields and still have them filled out so the user doesn't see console logs or potential developer specific information i want to include with the idea submission.
