Only Aha! owners/contributors can use the MCP server connection
Limits the scope of use of the MCP server
Enable the MCP server to work similar to the Aha! REST API with user permissions and allow Aha! reviewers and viewers to use it to access information they already have access to
All permission levels can now connect to the MCP server. Your AI tool has the same permissions you have in your Aha! account.
For reviewers and viewers, an account administrator must first select Enable view access for MCP server connections for reviewers and viewers under User menu → Settings → Account → AI controls.
Hi!
We are getting feedback from non-contributors that they only have read-rights, not possible to create an idea using the MCP. This does not seem to be in line with the admin response that states that an AI tool should have the same permissions as the user has in Aha.
Are we doing something wrong?
I see it was set to shipped, but a non-contributor in my organization said it is still not working , anything needed to be done in our side ?
Yes, our entire organization has viewer access so they can view various roadmaps, dashboards, and knowledge base articles in Aha. These users only have reviewer access, and really from an MCP perspective, that should follow their same permissions on their Aha user license. This is a critical need for our organization, and many team members are unhappy with the lack of functionality here.
We require viewer access to include our Aha roadmaps in our company knowledge base for all Aha users. These users only need to view records.
