What is the challenge? |
When creating a report including linked records, the main record in the report will only show if the records have the relevant links. |

What is the impact? |
This makes it challenging to build reports including record links but also see records that do not have those links. |
Describe your idea |
When building a report using record links, the records from the main record type only show up in the report if they have the links. I would like to have functionality more like reporting on epics and features where if the main record type doesn't have any links you still get an item in the report for that record and then blank columns if there is no linked record. |
I would like the ability to report on where 'related to' links do not exist for a specic workspace. For example, I have created a report that shows Initiatives from a certain workspace that have linked Epics from multiple workspaces, but I need to create the inverse to show Initiatives from that workspace that do not have a link to any Epics. At present the report brings back Initiatives that do have links to Epics as well as those that don't. This appears to be because other 'related to' relationships exist. So I get the Initiative showing on the report for where there are links to Epics but the same Initiative showing on the report that is supposed to show only the Initiatives with no linked Epics. I need a way to make the report only look at 'related to' relationships for the data I want.
Can you give us an example of what kind of data types you're using for this issue? That will help us narrow this problem down.
