The Now/Next/Later roadmap provides an option to use the release date internal field to determine the column groupings and to display on the card. The external release date is not supported on this view. |
What is the impact? |
When sharing a view with stakeholders, using the external release date for the roadmap helps with setting expectations. This requires additional setup to use a different view (e.g. pivot report) |

This is important to us for the purpose of communicating roadmaps to customers. We should have option to include dates when known with precision and use rounded up dates when it makes sense to do so. This is what the external release date field works well for in releases; not sure why it wasn't included as a field option for cards when this was first designed.
