Associate "time in status" fields with statuses directly for chart reporting

What is the challenge?

The new "Time in status" fields are great for determining how long a record has spent in a status. It is difficult to visualize this in a chart format with a series, as the contents of those fields are not inherently associated with the status they represent.

What is the impact?

I would like to be able to construct a stacked chart that shows my record name and a bar broken down by how long that record spent in each status. This is possible in a pivot view, but in a chart view, setting the series to the "Time in status" field creates an unhelpful view where the series labels are the times themselves rather than the status breakdown.

It does not work to do a "Status" series, as this pulls the current status of the record in question, rather than the status associated with the time spent field.

Describe your idea

It would be great if the "Time in status" fields could be inherently connected to the statuses they represent in some way. That way, if they are used in a series, that series could display the actual status name for the breakdown.
