drag and drop for customized field

What is the challenge?

We have a customized field called 'Handoff date, which means the on that date, PRD and design are done and PM/PD hand off the feature to dev team.
As a PM, when I make a roadmap plan, I have along list of features for adjusting the handoff date.
But I cannot use drag&drop for organize the features on which date, they are planned to be handed off.
Instead I have to open each features, and change the date one by one.

What is the impact?

If we can have the this field "Handoff date" shown as the release name, and enable me to drag&drop features between different handoff dates, that would be great!
