Intuitive Navigation

I don't understand Aha navigation at all. It's impossible to find anything. To find a something, I have to locate the project in the tiny drop down, then I have to somehow know that what I'm looking for exists in one of the dozens of functions on the top bar, which are most often blank. I've never seen a piece of software that organizes by function rather than content. There's no discoverability. Why not (here's my suggestion) put a workspace tree on the left, under which all the created content is listed in a folder like tree. Like Confluence. Like Windows.
