Share custom types across different workflows

I have a separate workflow for roadmap and develop, but we use the same types for issues. Ex: bug, new feature, research etc.

Currently, when a feature is entered on the develop side and assigned a type, it will reset the type to the default type when added to a workspace. I would like for it to retain the issue type when we determine that we want to track that work on the roadmap side. The different workflows should not affect the "type" of issue.
