I am there to do my work - not be inconvenienced by your announcements to attend some training sessions.
Send all that stuff as emails so I can spam it there... please.

Totally agree with Cathie's comment. Love getting the announcements and not having to deal with email. Keeps me informed on what is coming. Keep up the work Aha!!
I personally like the announcements; I too am in there all day every day. I only notice the announcement once or twice a week. As someone who is responsible for producing software for other organizations, I find the best way to get the communication out is within the application.
