For all of my commonly used web applications (JIRA, Salesforce, Confluence) the search results are on a page with a specific URL. This allows me to create a Chrome 'search engine' so I can search without first navigating to the app.
For example, I can search Salesforce just by opening chrome and typing 'sf <customername>' in the Chrome address bar. This saves me navigating to Salesforce, using my mouse to click on a search icon, and only then typing my query.
As we use Aha! more and more, the lack of this is starting to grate. I'd love if it there was a search URL that I could use in this way, even better if it lets me filter down by type of entity (eg. release, activity, idea).
That's awesome, thanks, Chris. I hope it doesn't go away too soon, this is extremely useful.
For now you can do what you want by going to: https://<yourdomain>.aha.io/search?q=<search query here>
It is likely that this page will be removed at some point in the future since it is no longer linked to anywhere in the Aha! UI.
