Make sure the main aha and the portal share the same logins

It looks like the main aha site and the ideas portal don't share the same user sessions. This leads to never-ending login issues. For instance

  • If I open the portal in a new tab, then SSO logs me in with the portal user. Any idea I create are then against my portal user id.

  • If I click on a link from the main aha to the portal, then I access the portal with my main aha. I can't see the ideas I created. I can't see any proxy vote I created on the idea.

  • By opening one tab on each site, I can effectively vote twice on every idea.

There shouldn't be two different set of user accounts.

    Hello Chrissi,

Thank you for your answer. But yes, SSO is activated on both the portal and the main site. And it logs in to the portal user on the portal, and the aha user on the main site.

As described in the issue, there is a way to force logging in with the main account on the portal, but the point of the issue is that there shouldn't be two accounts.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. When SSO is enabled for a portal, idea portals prompt the user for their email address to determine if they already have an Aha! login. If their email address is registered in Aha!, they will be redirected to login via Aha! to ensure they do not have two separate logins.

Please check with your portal admin that the Access for Aha! users setting is enabled. You can find the steps here. If the setting is enabled and you are still running into issues, please reach out to our Customer Success team at support@aha.io.
