Hi Chase, thank you for the additional feedback. I did want to make sure you were aware of the ideas priority chart (Ideas > Chart.) The axis will update based on your custom scorecard. So for example, if you change "Effort" to "Difficulty."
This currently only exists for ideas. One additional thought for epics (and other record types) is that the scorecard metrics are available for reporting individually as well. So you could create a scatter chart or other reports to analyze epics by score. It is not the exact matrix but I'm curious if this reporting might be helpful.
It's not, the point isn't to have a single score but to see the score on a matrix.
If I had a difficulty score of 10 and a value score of 10 (assuming I don't do more fancy maths) then I would get a 0 for the score. If I have a difficulty of 1 and a value of 1 I'd also get a score of 0. This doesn't allow for the nuance and complexity that a matrix can show - even though the difficulty is at 10 the value could justify the cost whereas the value of one with the same score I'd likely never do.
The score is flawed when considering the complexity and a possible solution/direction - it is oversimplified in its current state for what we are looking for. But please don't go away from this idea with a simple "we do this today" because you absolutely do not. I'd argue that this feature is completely worthless unless you only ever consider one value. It doesn't show the work done to get there...
Hi there, thank you for your idea. This should be possible today by creating a custom scorecard equation. This article describes how to set this up in more detail. Thanks!
Wonderful! Let us know if you have more feedback as you begin using this.
Ah, now were cooking with fire. This looks like it would work - thanks Austin, we will look into this.
