I'd like to be able to pick and choose what updates to send to Slack. Currently, when an idea is submitted, I'm getting 3 messages in Slack. One that the person who submitted it voted for it, that they updated the description of the idea, and that an idea was added.
Also, there are some updates that happen after the idea is created that I don't want to trigger a notification in Slack.
Finally, when a comment is made on an idea, the post made to Slack has a ton of superfluous line breaks versus filling the chat box real estate horizontally. This makes comment messages in Slack take up huge vertical real estate unnecessarily.

Share product updates in Slack
We just launched a new Aha! to Slack integration — giving you greater control over the notifications the team receives. From newly submitted ideas to features that have just shipped, keep people instantly informed right in Slack.

Thank you so much for this update! I was able to automate one of my recurring manual tasks and improve the format of notifications regarding changes to idea records.
The Slack integration is not flexible enough for our use case. We just want updates posted when an idea is submitted. The workaround we found was to use an intermediary tool (airtable) to filter out updates and only post upon submission. Unfortunately this requires a paid subscription to airtable due to the sheer volume of activities.
