Allow integration with custom work item types
Sometime companies use customized templates with custom work item types. Currently the ADO integration only supports integration with the standard types like "initiatives", "features", "Requirements". Our template supports a custom type called "PI objective", which stems from the SAFe scaled agile framework. It would be great to integrate those records to the "Goal" record in Aha!

Good question. Yes -- I did reload the configuration and I can see the custom work item type. I don't want to map against a feature cause it just isn't. I also want to customize additional fields that don't belong to a feature but do belong to a PI objective. However, I have disabled "Epic" (previously called Master Feature). What I can do is enable the Epic again and re-apply it to map against the "PI Objective" from Azure. This might actually work since the epic is parented to features. Let me try this out.
Thanks for sharing this idea! I have a quick clarifying question - do you specifically need to map "Goals" in Aha! to a custom work item in ADO? If so, understood and we will continue to monitor feedback on this idea.
As you mentioned, we currently only support mapping to initiatives, releases, epics, features, and requirements. But we do allow you to map to custom work item types. As long as it is active for the current project, it should be an available option here:
